Dr. Burlingame has overall leadership and management responsibilities for developing, staffing, and implementing the BSN Program, RN to BSN Option. An experienced nurse educator and academic leader, Dr. Burlingame started her career in an active clinical practice as an Intensive Cardiac Care Unit and Emergency Room nurse. In addition to her clinical practice, she was a full-time nursing faculty member for over a decade. Her academic administrative experience includes serving as an Associate Degree and Practical Nursing Program Director, Academic Dean at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, and Interim Provost of Mesabi Range Community and Technical College in Minnesota. In these roles, Dr. Burlingame worked extensively with the faculty and program directors of several online programs in collaboration with other state colleges.
A nurse for almost three decades, Dr. Burlingame has held a variety of positions as a nurse educator and academic administrator at several institutions. She is the author of several successful grants and has offered numerous workshops and presentations on topics in nursing and education. She is a frequent textbook reviewer. A graduate of two leadership academies focused on small and community colleges, she has served on a number of state and regional committees on nursing education and collaboration among educational institutions and workforce organizations.
Before assuming her current role, Dr. Burlingame served Galen as Special Assistant to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Interim Dean of the Tampa Bay Campus. She earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Oral Roberts University, the Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Minnesota, the Bachelor of Science Degree from Moorhead State University, and the Associate Degree in Nursing from Northland Community College.
ÃÛ½ÛÊÓÆµ (Galen) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, masterâ€™s, and doctorate degrees. Galen also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Galen consists of a Main Campus located in Kentucky and off-campus instructional sites in Florida, Kansas, Nevada,ÌýNorth Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. Branch campus accreditation is dependent upon the continued accreditation of the Main Campus.
