Galen Celebrates NLN LEAD Program Selections


Galen is proud to highlight six academic leaders for their selection to the 2024 National League for Nursing (NLN) LEAD Program. Their participation in the LEAD program underscores Galen’s commitment to enhancing nursing leadership and education, leading the charge in innovation, and setting the standard for excellence in nursing.

About the LEAD Program

The LEAD Program is recognized for its comprehensive approach to developing leaders in nursing.

Participants are currently on a year-long journey of intensive learning to refine their leadership acumen by focusing on personal and professional goal setting, understanding the dynamics of effective leadership, and applying leadership theories and practices through real-world case studies. During the program, they will receive:

  • One-on-one executive coaching to provide personalized guidance.
  • Virtual group sessions for collaborative learning and networking.
  • A leadership retreat for immersive leadership training.
  • Educational webinars to cover a range of leadership topics.

Leadership Under Expert Guidance

Dr. Janice Brewington, a member of Galen’s Board of Directors and the NLN chief program officer, oversees the program. Her involvement ensures that Galen’s leaders receive guidance and support. NLN President and CEO Beverly Malone, PhD, RN, FAAN, has praised the LEAD program as a critical initiative for shaping the future of healthcare leadership, highlighting its importance in advancing the nursing profession.
